 Taketoritei Maruyama is located at the highest elevation of the hill in the Arima Onsen Resort with about 30 Japanese inns. Leaving the town and passing through the gate to the inn, you will find yourself in the world of the bamboo cutter.
The small inn with 31 guest rooms stands quietly a little way away from the Arima Onsen streets. Taketoritei Maruyama, just as the name suggests, is built in the image of the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. Designed in modern Japanese style, the inn will lead you to find yourself in a completely different world.
First, you will be greeted by the entrance with tall bamboo trees soaring to the sky. Going up the stairs and passing through the gate, you will be seeing the world of the "Tale of the Bamboo Cutter" looming right before your eyes.
Then, you will be led to the reception room with granite floor and lights. After finishing check-in, female guests may choose a yukata they like best out of our 100 selections. The yukata gives you the most pleasure when staying at a hot spring inn and transforms you into a Moon Princess. When the right yukata is chosen, you will be led to your guest room. Then, you will be led to your room in an ox-drawn wagon here at Taketoritei Maruyama.
Our motto is "Dedicated service to each one of our guests just as Okina treated the Moon Princess with tender loving care." We will be more than pleased if you can feel "at home, peaceful and well-composed" in this "home away from home."
